Description
Active Ingredients: Omega-3 Fatty Acids (DHA, EPA, DPA), Astaxanthin
What is "Omega-3 Fatty Acids" ?
Omega-3 fatty acids are "essential fatty acids", so called because they are essential to the human body, but the body cannot synthesizethem on its own and therefore must obtain from the diet.
The most important omega-3 fatty acids include DHA and EPA. They are essential to the whole human lifespan and play different roles in all stages, from infancy through adulthood into the elderly years. Sufficient omega-3 intake is vital to the health of our heart, brain, eyes, joints, etc.
Natural Omega-3 Salmon Oil
Natural Omega-3 Salmon Oil is made from salmon living in the pure waters of the Norwegian West coast. The omega-3 fatty acids are extracted using cold separation immediately after the fish has been killed. This provides aXimed with the purest and cleanest natural omega-3 raw material available.
aXimed does not process the raw material chemically to enhance or change the omega-3 profile of the raw material as the natural occurring profile found in salmon provides the optimal balance between EPA, DHA and DPA. The EPA, DHA and DPA are present in their natural triglyceride form with high bioavailability and digestibility.
As the omega-3 fatty acids have been extracted by cold separation and not undergone chemical enhancements, the salmon oil retains the natural pink color of salmon due to the presence of astaxanthin which is prevalent in salmon. Astaxanthin is a natural powerful antioxidant (500 times stronger than vitamin E) which strengthens the effects of omega-3 especially in heart and eye protection.
Each batch is thoroughly tested for contaminants and heavy metals.
*DPA and EPA are inter-convertible in human body and have similar benefits to human health.
Functions
-
Promotes cardiovascular health
An overwhelming body of research showed that omega-3 fatty acids improve lipid profile, reduce arterial fat deposits, enhance arterial elasticity, improve blood circulation and enhance cardiovascular health. International organizations including EC and FDA agree that omega-3 (DHA/EPA) fatty acids help protect cardiovascular health.
-
Protects brain health
Omega-3 fatty acids are structural components of brain cells and play a vital role in brain development. They regulate neuro transmission, together with their anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties, effectively protecting brain health, delaying brain aging and combating various brain problems.
-
Improves eye health
The retina has a high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids, which optimize fluidity of photoreceptor membranes, retinal integrity and visual function. Studies also show that omega-3 fatty acids enhance eye moisture and help relieve symptoms of dry eye.
-
Promotes joint health
Omega-3 fatty acids help relieve joint problems through its anti- inflammatory properties. They also inhibit collagen degradation and reduce articular cartilage loss. Moreover, omega-3 enhance the elasticity of blood vessels and improve blood circulation, which helps nourish and repair the joint cells.
-
Improves allergic constitution
People of allergic constitution often suffer from respiratory or skin problems. Omega-3 fatty acids regulate immunity and reduce production of pro-inflammatory factors, improving allergic constitution. Unlike some medications, this action of omega-3 does not cause any side effects.
-
Improves skin quality
Omega-3 fatty acids reduce skin collagen degradation. Studies proved that omega-3 alleviate skin dryness and enhance moisture level. Omega-3 promotes blood circulation and help improve skin complexion.
-
Stabilizes emotions and improves sleep quality
Through regulating the brain’s nervous system and serotonin levels, omega-3 fatty acids help stabilize emotions, alleviating mood swings and improving sleep quality.
Suitable for: the whole family, including pregnant women and infants.
